The
young Planet Earth
If you add up the dates in Genesis, Adam was
created approximately 6000 years ago. Therefore
the Earth was created approximately 6000 years
ago.
Evolutionists
Evolutionists believe that the whole Universe and
life itself arose by chance between 3 and 15
billion years ago.
Someone is lying!
- Credibility
of Jesus is at stake.
- Credibility
of Genesis is at stake.
- Virtually
every book in the Bible is at stake.
Creation
Theory
Genesis
1:1 "In the beginning God created
the heavens and the earth".
Evolution
Theory:
- Origin of
the universe – The Big Bang Theory.
- Origin of
life – The Spontaneous Generation
Theory
- Evolution
of man – The Theory of Evolution
Evolutionists
believe that the entire solar system was formed
from clouds of gas and dust. If so, the Sun,
planets, and the moon should be made of similar
elements.
In fact:
- The Sun is
98% Hydrogen or Helium
- The Earth,
the moon, Venus , Mercury – all
contain less than 1% Hydrogen or Helium!
If the solar
system evolved, all planets should be spinning in
the same direction.
In fact:
- Pluto and
Venus rotate backwards
- Uranus is
tipped on its side.
If the Solar
system evolved, all the moons should orbit their
planets in the same direction.
In fact:
- At least 6
planets have backward rotating moons.
- Neptune,
Saturn and Jupiter have moons orbiting in
both directions!
Large
gaseous planets like Jupiter and Saturn
- Scientists
cannot explain why their gases have not
dissipated into the vacuum of space in 4
billion years!
The
Moon
- The Moon
has quite different elements to Earth. If
the Earth and the Moon evolved from a big
bang, it would be expected that they
would have identical composition.
- The Moon
is getting farther from the Earth by 2
inches every year.
- It used to
be closer!
- The Moon
controls the tides. The closer the Moon,
the higher the tides (Inverse Square Law)
- If the
Moon were 2 million years old the tides
would be so high that they would drown
everyone twice a day!
Space
Dust
- If the
Universe is billions of years old, there
should not be any space dust.
- In 1955,
scientists predicted that Moon dust might
be several miles deep.
- Huge
landing pads were put on the spacecraft
for the moon landing so that it would not
sink into the dust.
- In fact it
was found that the dust on the Moon was
about ½ inch deep only, suggesting a
young Moon.
- Dust
actually gathers at the rate of 2.7
inches per million years.
Comets
and asteroids are observed in space.
- Comets
have a life expectancy of less than 10,000
years, because they burn out.
- The
existence of comets, asteroids, and space
dust indicates a young universe.
Magnetic
field of the Earth
The Earth's
Magnetic field is getting weaker. This means that:
- The Earth
cannot be millions of years old.
- Carbon
dating does not work.
The
Earth is slowing down
- At the
equator the Earth is travelling at about
1000 miles per hour.
- The Earth
slows down by 1/1000 second per day.
- The Earth
used to spin faster!
- Leap
seconds are added every 18 months.
- If the
Earth is only 6000 years old there is no
problem.
- If the
Earth is billions of years old –
that is a major problem.
- Earth
would then have been spinning much faster!
- Days and
nights would have elapsed much faster!
- Centrifugal
force would have been a big problem.
- The winds
would have been 5000 miles per hour.
Population
studies
The world is
not overcrowded!

The
Bible teaches that:
- 6000 years
ago, God created Adam & Eve
- 4400 years
ago, there was a Flood which destroyed
everyone except for 8 people
- The
current population curve started 4400
years ago.
- If you
start with 8 people 4400 years ago, you
could grow a population of 6 Billion
people in 4400 years!
However
-
- If you
believe that Human life started 3 million
years ago, we would have 150,000 people
per square inch!
- Evolutionists
have a problem!
Conclusion
Population
studies indicate that the Earth is NOT billions
of years old.
Age of
the Sahara desert
Only 4000 years
old.
This is
consistent with the Flood 4,400 years ago, as the
Bible says.
Pressure
of oil in oil wells
- 20,000
pounds per square inch.
- Geologists
say that rocks could not have contained
that pressure for more than 10,000 years.
- Oil comes
from carboniferous forests and animals
– it can be produced artificially.
- The Earth
must be less than 10,000 years old for
the oil to be contained under such high
pressure.
- The oil
was formed by compression of
carboniferous forests and animals by the
Flood 4,400 years ago, as the Bible says.
Mississippi
River
- Deposits
80,000 tons of sediment every hour at the
New Orleans Delta.
- Scientists
say that the Delta took 30,000 years to
accumulate that mud.
- If the
Universe is 20 million years old, the
whole of Gulf of Mexico should be full of
mud by now.
The
oldest tree in the world
- Is 4,400
years old.
- This is
consistent with a Flood 4,400 years old,
as the Bible says.
The
Great Barrier Reef, Australia
- Is 4,200
years old.
- This is
consistent with a flood 4,400 years ago,
as the Bible says.
Niagara
Falls
- Are
eroding at the rate of 4.7 feet per year.
- Has only
moved 7.5 miles from when it started.
- If the
Earth is billions of years old – why
has it not eroded right back to Lake
Eyrie by now?
- Answer:
Because the Niagara Falls started at the
Flood, 4,400 years ago, as the Bible says.
Saltiness
of the oceans
- When it
rains, 70% of rainwater evaporates or
soaks into the ground.
- 30% of
rainwater runs into the oceans.
- The
rainwater takes with it mineral salts
washed out of the ground.
- The oceans
get saltier all the time.
- Today the
oceans are less than 3.6% salt
- This could
have happened in the time since the Flood,
4,400 years ago.
Nickel
found on Planet Earth
- Amount of
nickel found on this planet, derived from
cosmic dust, suggests a young planet.
Diameter
of the Sun
- The
diameter of the Sun is consistent with a
young Universe.
Helium
present on the Earth
- Amount of
Helium present – suggests an age of
the Universe no more than 11,000 years
old.
Fine
tuning of the Universe – the Anthropic
Principle :
Our
planet is exactly fine tuned for the existence of
man.
- There are
thousands of parameters and ratios which
are on a knife edge.
- The fine
tuning is so critical that it simply
could not have happened by chance.
1. The exact
distance of the Earth from the Sun.
- If 5%
closer, the water would all boil off.
- If 1%
further away, all the oceans would freeze.
2. The speed of
rotation of planet Earth
- Faster,
and we all fly into space.
- Slower,
and we cannot stand upright!
3. Surface
Gravity of the Earth
4. Thickness of
the Earth's crust
5. Rotation
period of the Earth
6.
Gravitational interaction between the moon and
the Earth.
These,
and many others, are all critical. There is
overwhelming evidence for a Creator:
Isaiah 45:18
For thus
says the LORD, who created the heavens, who is
God, who formed the earth and made it, who has
established it, who did not create it in vain,
who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the
LORD, and there is no other".
Psalm 19:1
The heavens
declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows
His handiwork.
Origin
of the universe – The Big Bang Theory.
The
universe, galaxies, stars, planets arose, by
chance, from a huge explosion between 5 and 15
billion years ago!
All
observed explosions are destructive!
- Explosions
cause spontaneous degeneration – not
Spontaneous Generation!
- All
explosions decrease order and structure.
- If you
blow up a car factory – you do not
end up with a Jumbo Jet!
Spontaneous
Generation Theory
Spontaneous
Generation Theory, which stated that all life on
planet Earth descended from a common single-cell,
arising by chance, in the "primordial ooze",
3.5 billion years ago.
This
contradicts the Law of Biogenesis – that
life comes from pre-existing life.
Time
and Space had a finite beginning.
- Albert
Einstein published his Special Theory of
Relativity in 1905.
- Albert
Einstein published his General Theory of
Relativity in 1915.
- Three
British astrophysicists, Steven Hawking,
George Ellis and Roger Penrose, published
papers in which they extended Einstein's
Theory of General Relativity to include
measurements of time and space in 1968
and 1970.
- They
discovered that time and space had a
finite beginning that corresponded to the
origin of matter and energy.
- Prior to
this moment, time and space did not exist!
The
Spontaneous Generation theory contradicts the
First Law of Thermodynamics
- This law
is often thought of as the Law of
Conservation of Mass and Energy.
- The First
Law of Thermodynamics states that the sum
of kinetic energy, potential energy, and
thermal energy in a closed system remains
constant.
- Matter, or
its energy equivalent, cannot be created
nor destroyed under natural circumstances.
- To explain
the origin of matter in the atheistic
Spontaneous Generation model, it is
simply assumed that matter arose from
nothing.
- This is in
direct contravention of the First Law of
Thermodynamics!
- The First
Law of Thermodynamics demands that matter
cannot create itself.
- There must
therefore have been an "Outside
Agency", Who the Bible describes as
God, Who created everything.
"Simple
life" evolved into more complex life forms.
In
Darwin's Theory of Evolution, and the Spontaneous
Generation model, it is proposed that "simple
life" evolved into more complex life forms.
Darwin's theory of Evolution and the Spontaneous
Generation model both directly contravene -
The
Second Law of Thermodynamics
- The
disorder in a system increases, rather
than decreases.
- Gives a
precise definition of a property called
entropy.
Entropy
Entropy
can be thought of as a measure of the disorder in
a system. The law states that the entropy, or
disorder, of an isolated system can never
decrease. In other words, in our Universe, a
state of order progresses to a state of disorder.
For
example:
- The Sun
and the stars are burning up
- The Sun is
cooling down
- The
Universe is "winding down"
- Ultimately
there will be "heat death" of
the universe.
Implications
of Second Law of Thermodynamics
The
Second Law of Thermodynamics implies that the
Universe could not order and provide energy for
itself. The order and energy observed in the
Universe implies an "Outside Agency",
Who the Bible describes as God.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth.
Psalm 102:25-26
25. Of old You laid the foundation of the
earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26. They will perish, but You will endure;
yes, they will all grow old like a garment; like
a cloak You will change them, and they will be
changed.
Theory
of Evolution
In 1859
the book "The Origin of Species" was
published by Charles Darwin, promoting his Theory
of Evolution.
Darwin
noted:
- Variation
within species, for example the length of
finches' beaks.
- Survival
of the fittest.
- Survival
of the strongest, and best adapted,
animals.
He
proposed Gene Mutation as the method of forming
new varieties of life.
Mutation
in DNA code can be caused by:
- Radiation
- Chemicals
- Disease
All
observed Gene Mutations cause disease or
malformation
- Down's
syndrome
- Spina
bifida
- Anencephaly
(absent head)
Mutation
from one species to another has never been
observed.
Adaptation
within species (e.g. all the different varieties
of dogs) are commonly observed.
Comments
from World famous scientists.
In 1930
British physicist Sir James Jeans wrote:
"Nature
seems very conversant with the rules of pure
mathematics … In the same way, a
scientific study of the action of the
universe has suggested a conclusion which may
be summed up… in the statement that the
universe appears to have been designed by a
pure mathematician… the universe can
best be pictured, although still very
imperfectly and inadequately, as consisting
of pure thought… If the universe is a
universe of thought, then its creation must
have been an act of thought. Indeed the
finiteness of space compels us to think of
the creator as working outside time and space,
which are part of his creation, just as an
artist is outside his canvas." (The
Mysterious Universe, p 146)
NASA
astronomer Robert Jastrow wrote:
"Now
we see how the astronomical evidence leads to
a Biblical view of the origin of the world:
the chain of events leading to man commenced
suddenly and sharply in a definite moment of
time, in a flash of light and energy." (God
and the Astronomers, p 14).
Sir
Fred Hoyle wrote:
"A
super intellect has monkeyed with physics, as
well as with chemistry and biology".
"The likelihood of the formation of life
from inanimate matter is one to a number with
40 thousand noughts (zeros) after it. It is
enough to bury Darwin and the whole theory of
evolution. There was no primeval soup,
neither on this planet nor on any other, and
if the beginnings of life were not random
they must therefore have been the product of
a purposeful intelligence," (Nature:
vol. 294:105, 12 Nov 1981).
The
astronomer George Greenstein wrote:
" As
we survey all the evidence, the thought
instantly arises that some supernatural
agency – or rather Agency – must be
involved. Is it possible that suddenly,
without intending to, we have stumbled upon
the existence of a Supreme Being? Was it God
who stepped in and so providentially crafted
the cosmos for our benefit? "
Physicist
and Nobel Laureate Arno Penzias wrote:
"Astronomy
leads us to a unique event, a universe which
was created out of nothing, one with a very
delicate balance needed to provide exactly
the conditions required to permit life, and
one which has an underlying (one might say 'supernatural')
plan."
Robert
Shapiro wrote:
"The
improbability involved in generating even one
bacterium is so large that it reduces all
considerations of time and space to
nothingness. Given such odds, the time until
the black holes evaporate and the space to
the ends of the universe would make no
difference at all. If we were to wait, we
would truly be waiting for a miracle".
In 1982
Francis Crick, winner of the Nobel Prize for
biology, wrote:
" An
honest man, armed with all the knowledge
available to us now, could only state that in
some sense, the origin of life appears at the
moment to be almost a miracle, so many are
the conditions which would have to be
satisfied to get it going". (Life
Itself, Its Origin and Nature, Futura, London
1982).
The
Spontaneous Generation theory of the evolution of
life is in direct conflict with observable laws
of physics.
The
Biblical view of the universe, created by God
Himself, is the only, and the correct,
alternative. It is also by far the simplest!
DNA
- 75
trillion cells in the human body.
- Each cell
has a full complement of chromosomes in
its nucleus.
- Each
nucleus has 46 chromosomes made up of 23
pairs, one from each of the two parents
of each individual.
- Each
chromosome contains a strand of DNA.
- Each
strand of DNA includes hundreds of
millions of base pairs.
- Stretched
out straight each strand of DNA would
measure 3-9 feet long and about 20 atoms
across.
- DNA was
discovered in 1952.
- DNA is
composed of Adenine, Thymidine, Guanine,
and Cytosine.
- DNA is the
computer storage medium of the human body.
- DNA is in
fact a three out of four digital code,
with immense storage capacity.
- Each
particular cell in the human body has a
particular computer code, with
information about how it should function,
repair itself and reproduce.
- DNA is an
extremely complex molecule.
- The DNA
code includes details of our height, our
personality, our intelligence, the
colours of our eyes and other physical
attributes.
Mathematical
calculations
It can
be calculated mathematically, using Switching
Theory, that the chance of one DNA molecule
occurring randomly is one chance in 1053
The
scientific community discounts any "chance"
greater than one chance in 1050.
DNA
could not possibly have evolved by Spontaneous
Generation!
There
are no "primitive cells"
This
invalidates completely the notion of Man being
formed from "primitive cells". The fact
is that "primitive cells" are not
primitive! They have DNA in them, which is
incredibly complex, and simply could not have
"evolved by chance!"
All
animals have the same DNA code.
Thus
all DNA codes of life came from the same "Software
Creator", proving the supernatural origin of
life on this planet.
Each
individual is thus pre-programmed, and that
program resides on the DNA in each individual
cell comprising our human body.
Sir
Fred Hoyle
- calculated
the odds of only the proteins of an
amoeba arising by chance as one chance in
1040,000 (Chuck
Missler: "The Creator Beyond Time
and Space").
Difficulties
with information systems.
How can
the "message sender" (DNA) and the
"message receiver" (RNA) both evolve by
chance on exactly the same frequency? Impossible!
Compare
with a mobile phone.
If cellular
phones were able to manufacture themselves,
you can guarantee that they would not be able
to communicate with each other! They would
only be able to communicate with each other
when an outside agency, of greater
technological expertise, programmed all the
cellular phones to identical frequencies,
using identical computer languages!
Chirality
of molecules and proteins in living systems.
- DNA and
RNA exist in the right-hand form.
- The amino
acids in all living systems are in the
left-hand form.
- Even if
DNA could "spontaneously generate"
from the primordial ooze it would contain
equal proportions of left and right
handed forms – useless for life!
In
summary
- The
Spontaneous Generation model is
completely impossible!
- Creation
is the only possibility:
"In
the beginning God created the heavens and the
earth" (Genesis 1:1).
Scientific
evidence for the Creation of Man,
as opposed to Evolution of Man.
- Natural
selection provides no new genetic
information from which a new species can
evolve.
- Natural
selection, as actually observed,
preserves the species, rather than
encouraging the evolution of a mutant.
- Mutations,
as actually observed, are abnormal
mutations, which are selected against.
- Darwin
postulated that evolution occurs very
slowly – but there are no
intermediate fossil forms.
- Information
systems – as found in DNA –
require an outside programming
Intelligence.
- "Simple"
life forms, such as Amoebas – are in
fact incredibly complex, because these
unicellular organisms contain DNA.
- Evolution
is not supported by molecular biology
– different kinds of fish and
animals have different haemoglobin.
- To create
anything, on this planet, or in the
Universe, you need both Power and
Information.
If
Creation is true – there is a Creator, and
there are rules given by God.
If Evolution is
true – there is no Creator, and there are no
rules. In fact, we make them up as we go along,
according to the majority vote.
If
Creation is true – there is a purpose to
life.
If Evolution is
true – there is no Creator, and no purpose
to life. We are evolving creatures.
If
Creation is true – we are a fallen race, and
we need a Saviour.
If Evolution is
true – there is no sin, and we do not need a
Saviour.
