- The Foundation Stone is laid on 23 March.
1873
- Consecrated on the 3 January, first Vicar, George Collis inducted.
1874
- A new organ is installed.
1876
- East Window installed, depicting scenes from the life of St. James.
1885
- Parish boundary adjusted when St. Saviours Church was established in Westgate-on-Sea.
